‘Clacklandia,’ a future TV series featuring Clackamas County commissioners?

“How can Clackamas County get its own TV series, and we can all get small parts?” he asked jokingly — we think — at a work session this morning brainstorming ideas for the county’s economic development commission.

Bernard, the resident joker of the Board of County Commissioners, was referring to the IFC channel’s hit satirical comedy “Portlandia,” which yesterday was renewed for a second season.

Is this a case of jealousy? Portland Mayor Sam Adams made an appearance in a recent episode as the nervous-looking assistant to the “real” mayor, played by actor Kyle MacLachlan.

County commissioners might just be in luck. In an interview yesterday with The Oregonian’s Kristi Turnquist, series star Carrie Brownstein declared her affections for the suburbs and possible plans to expand beyond Portland city limits.

“I grew up in the suburbs of Seattle, and I have a lot of love for the suburbs,” Brownstein said. “Maybe we will bring in a tiny bit of the suburbs. Since season one started with ‘Dream of the ’90s,’ maybe season two can begin with a couple from Beaverton heading into the city.”

Forget Beaverton, Carrie! Clackamas County commissioners want you to head south!

Maybe a visit to a Boring farm to adopt some chickens for a Portland couple’s misadventures in backyard, urban chickening?

Attend a goat breeding seminar at the Goat Education Conference in Oregon City. Every Portlander knows that goats are the greenest lawn mowers around. Just do not lose them in West Linn.

Surely, attention-starved Clackamas County can offer some hilarious scenes.

Please leave your appropriate suggestions below.
