RAVENA — Albany contractor Joe Futia came before the Ravena Village Board at their December 20 meeting to gather input and advice about possible development of a five-acre parcel he owns on McConnell Avenue. School Board Transfers $1.2M to Capital Reserves

Hauppauge school district’s Board of Education put $1.2 million in excess funds leftover from the 2010-2011 school year towards future construction and renovation projects. Board trustees unanimously voted to place $1,214,901 in excess funds into the Capital Reserve Fund for future construction projects to upgrade the district’s buildings and reduce the possible need for future borrowing.

Jackson County hospital looks to future building needs

MAQUOKETA, Iowa — Significant building improvements may becoming to Jackson County Regional Health Center in a few years. Chico neighborhood to be taken out of proposed Silverdale city boundaries

SILVERDALE —The group backing incorporation of Silverdale has decided to redraw its proposed city boundaries to exclude the Chico neighborhood. The change means the group must begin the incorporation process over again. The decision came after a May 12 Boundary Review Board meeting that was attended by about 200 people.

Board working on nepotism policy

A new city policy could prohibit family members of City Council members and the city manager from being hired — a move that one civil service commissioner stated would be a “step toward slowly changing the culture in Burbank.” The draft policy, which is still being fine-tuned by the Civil Service Board, could also extend to department chiefs, even though that provision has yet to find consensus.
