Early tips on how to pick out furniture, carpets and electrical appliances for their future homes were picked up by tots visiting local stores.
Under-5s at Stepping Stones preschool group in Haverhill took a trip to the town centre and visited Glasswells furniture store, Gavin Hunt carpets and Hughes Electrical.
Elaine McManus, leader of the group, stated 20 kids went on the visit as part of their ‘houses and homes’ theme.
Elaine said: “We had a brilliant time. They tried out couches in Glasswells and Gavin Hunt gave us a rug with a hopscotch pattern when we visited his shop. We looked at washing machines in Hughes, but they were more interested in the televisions.
“Some had never been on a bus before but they were really good for such young children.”
The group, which meets at Coupals Primary School, is full at present, but a waiting list is open for places in September – call (01440) 703833.
